The Multicultural Family Resource Center (MFRC) and Greene County Community Center (GCCC) will once again be providing Spanish lessons that will be available for any adult in the community, led by MFRC Director Sara Huddleston.
The lessons are available for anyone who speaks beginner, intermediate, advanced or no Spanish. The lesson is a four week course starting Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. and continuing through March 28.
The cost for members of the GCCC is $34, and the cost for non-members is $40.
Huddleston, a native Spanish speaker, also taught Spanish lessons in January of this year, and wants to continue educating the community on new languages.
Two classes will be available: beginner and intermediate. Both lessons will cover vocabulary, grammar and conversation. The beginner class will focus on basic vocabulary and verbs. The intermediate class will focus on conjugations and tenses of verbs.
“According to research by BBC and Harvard University, learning a foreign language has potential benefits, such as boosting brain power, slowing brain aging, may delay dementia and prevent Alzheimer’s memory is improved, empathy, attention, cultural interaction and more,” stated a press release.
